Being gay is still conversational in the world we live in today and its acceptance has ebbed and flowed through history. While people like to point backwards to the openness of homosexual culture in ancient Greece, that was over 2,000 years ago and the world has not rushed forward as a whole to embrace a gay lifestyle. While some areas are very welcoming, such as Canada which allows gays to get married there are varying degrees of acceptance in small pockets and arenas – like traveling the world in any number of gay tours.

The vast and varied landscape and landmarks of Chile include arid deserts, the Torres del Paine National Park in Patagonia, the statues of Easter Island, the Elqui Valley of La Serena (long rumored to be associated with extraterrestrial activity), the Mirador de Chepu Penguin Colony, and old-world churches and architecture throughout the country.
